2012 Twilight XC Running Meet
At
Colony High School
August 14th, 2012
6:00pm
This is a fun start race for the season, a great distance, fast times, and fun times!!!!
Schools invited: any high school that wants to have a great time with XC Running!
Details:
Coaches Meeting: If you want to meet me ok, just make sure you pick up your bibs before the start.
Course Distance: 2.5km (Twilight course/ 2007 Region course 1 lap). Start/ Finish between the soccer field and the Turf field. The start line is the finish line.
Races: High School Boys Race 6:00pm
High School Girls Race 6:30pm
Community Race 7:00pm (self timed, large clock at finish line, no entry fee, donations accepted)
Awards 7:30pm
Uniforms: Team uniforms are alright, but a tradition of this race is that each school wears tye-dye shirts as their uniforms. The runners make their shirts and can design them using their school colors. The history of this, comes from a former local runner (Howie Powder) who supported XC Running in the valley, that was killed in a motorcycle accident, and he was known for wearing tye-dye shirts, riding (and racing) a unicycle and always having fun and giving back to the community.
Colony: black/green
Wasilla: red/white
Palmer: Blue/white
Houston: Red /Black
Kodiak: Blue/ yellow
Seward: Green / yellow
Awards: top 10 (boys and girls) get cookie awards, the TOP team (both boys and girls combined, by points) get a cake to share with the team.
Please note: All runners must be ASAA eligible for the high school races otherwise they run in the community race.
Entry fee: none, but if you would to donate to the Colony XC Running Team, please do.
Entries: Due Monday 8/13/12 at 8pm (please have them up by then so I dont have to call you late at night) on www.athletic.net you dont need to enter the community racers.
