Alaska high school track and field athletes recorded several personal bests during competition the week of April 20.
Andon Wolverton (Soldotna) ran 10.97 in the 100 meters at Borah v Mountain View & Boise on April 23, improving from his previous best of 11.26. The time ranks #2 in Alaska among 424 athletes and earned him first place among 91 competitors. Wolverton also set a PR in the 200 meters, clocking 23.75 to improve from 23.79.
Elijah Udall (Chugiak, Eagle River) posted 11.01 in the 100 meters at the 53rd Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational on April 24, dropping from his previous mark of 11.44 set in April 2026. The freshman ranks #4 in the state and #1 among 102 freshmen, finishing 10th of 67 competitors.
Colbie Broyles (Soldotna) ran 5:45.71 in the 1600 meters at Borah v Mountain View & Boise on April 23, improving from 5:59.00 set in April 2026. The freshman won the race among 13 competitors and ranks #18 in Alaska and #6 among 33 freshmen in the state.
Afton Luck (Soldotna) clocked 5:47.18 in the 1600 meters at the same meet, bettering her previous best of 5:57.78 from April 2026. She placed second of 13 competitors and ranks #19 in the state among 131 athletes.
Koda Lepule (Soldotna) threw 47-7.5 in the shot put at Borah v Mountain View & Boise on April 23, improving from 45-6.5. He won the event among 37 competitors and ranks #5 in Alaska among 225 athletes. Lepule also set a discus PR of 130-6, improving from 128-3.
Zack Kemp (Soldotna) ran 11.70 in the 100 meters at the same meet, dropping from 11.97. The sophomore placed eighth of 91 competitors and ranks #19 in the state and #6 among 106 sophomores.
Braze Cassidy (Soldotna) posted 23.90 in the 200 meters at Borah v Mountain View & Boise on April 23, improving from 24.67 set in April 2026. The junior finished ninth of 60 competitors and ranks #19 in Alaska and #4 among 52 juniors in the state.
