Alaska Runners End Season At NCAA West Regional

BELLINGHAM, WA - Alyson McPheters and Frederik Bak led the Alaska Nanooks' cross country teams Saturday as the Blue and Gold competed at the 2010 NCAA D.II West Regional Championships, hosted by Western Washington University at Lake Padden Park in Bellingham.
 
McPheters, who was the top Nanook on the day, finished sixty-fifth in the 6-kilometer women's race with 24:51.0 and Bak was eighty-fifth in the 10-kilometer men's event with 35.37.1.  The men finished seventeenth in the men's team competition with 486 points and the women's team was nineteenth with 487 points.
 
Joining McPheters for the Alaska women's team results were Jana Benedix (68th, 24:55.7), Kinsey Laine (82nd, 25:17.6), Aurelia Korthauer (117th, 26:16.7), Megan Thompson (159th, 29:10.1) and Kate Bennett (162nd, 30:53.2). 

Bak was joined by Tux Seims (86th, 35:38.3), Andrew Arnold (101st, 36:45.4), Josephy DeWilde (106, 36:59.5), Cody Priest (108th, 37:14.8), David Apperson (110th, 37:28.6) and Wyatt Mayo (124th, 38:49.4).
