10 Nanook Runners Earn GNAC All-Academic Team Honors

SPOKANE, WA - Ten members of the Alaska Nanook men's and women's cross country teams (four men and six women) garnered spots on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic team as announced Thursday by the league office. A total of 79 student-athletes - 33 men and 46 women - from the member schools were recognized.

Both teams were led by Alex Morris', whose 3.96 was the second highest among the GNAC men. Joining Morris on the men's squad were Erik Soederstroem, Ian Wilkinson and John Parry.

For them women, Theresia Schnurr was tops with a 3.93. Jana Benedix, Morgan Bender, Marit Rjabov, Aurelia Korthauer, and Heather Edic joined Schnurr in the recognition.

Korthauer and Parry made the squad for the third straight year, while Soederstroem, Wilkinson, Schnurr and Benedix made the list for a second time.
