FAIRBANKS, AK - A handful of student-athletes representing the Alaska Nanooks men's and women's cross country teams are in the Golden Heart City this weekend, where they are set to run in the NCAA West Regional meet on Saturday, November 7. The event is being hosted by San Francisco State University at Golden Gate Park Speedway Meadows. The women's 6k race is first with a 9 a.m. start, followed by the men's 10k run at 10 a.m. Assistant coach Matt Dunlap is on site with the Nanooks as they take to the trail for the final time this season.
Meanwhile, head coach
Scott Jerome and the rest of the the Alaska Nanooks men's and women's ski team are back in Fairbanks hosting their annual start-of-the-season fundraiser, Ski-Fest, Saturday night at 6 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center located on the UAF Campus. The evening includes a spaghetti dinner and various door prizes as well as a chance to meet the 2009-10 men's and women's ski team members.
