Help Honor Former West Runner Madeline Shook

Madeline Shook was a standout student-athlete at West High School during the 2016-2017 year who tragically passed away on October 16th. She ran to a 9th place finish at the state cross country championships, leading her team to a 5th place finish.

She placed 4th in the 1600m at the outdoor track & field championships recording a time of 5:07.57. She was a part of the winning 4x800m relay as well.

Through this GoFundMe page, we are placing a memorial stone on Cherokee Boulevard where Madeline did most of her training. Some excess funds will be used to decorate the tree with ribbons and ornaments.

Furthermore, all remaining money generated will be donated to the Western North Carolina Girls On The Run, which is where Madeline got her start in the sport.
